Problems when games in foreground

I'm running into performance issues trying to run games under Virtual Desktop. In both cases I am running a borderless full screen window:

Soul Calibur V: As long as Soul Calibur is not the foreground app, everything works great (60+fps). If I bring Soul Calibur to the foreground, capture rate goes to 0 and I get a black screen in the headset. At this time it is running fine on the desktop

Dead or Alive 6: As long as DoA6 is not the foreground app, everything runs fine (60+fps). If DoA6 is the foreground app, capture rate drops to ~2. It is running fine on the desktop at this time.

Luckily I'm using a gamepad for these games, so my workaround is to load up the game, set it fullscreen, and then set focus to a window on another monitor. As long as the game is not in focus, I can play the game smoothly.

It seems as if VirtualDesktop is unable to detect that the game screens are updating, so runs at a very low capture rate when they are foregrounded? Is there a way to force the capture rate?

Shouldn’t be an issue on Windows 10 on a desktop GPU. What version of Windows are you running and are you in a laptop or desktop? Virtual Desktop doesn’t change the capture rate based on foreground windows.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm running Win10, GTX 1080it, Oculus Rift... but I just investigated a bit more, and it ends up that I get a huge performance hit in VR by focusing a non-VR 3D application even without VirtualDesktop up.

I've just never had a non-VR application focused with the headset on, except when using Virtual Desktop, so I blamed it. My issue lies elsewhere, so false alarm on the bug report!
